3 Daily Decisions of a Disciple

Jesus desires for us to live The GOOD Life! “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”- life more abundantly (John 10:10 NLT). This "life" that Jesus promises is referred as "Zoe" in the Greek. ZOE is defined as the state of one who is possessed of vitality. Zoe causes inspiration, encouragement, renewed strength and health. It's also explained to be the absolute fullness of life. A life active and vigorous, devoted to God, and blessed! Jesus gives us the secret to Zoe life in John 8:12. It reads, “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. IF YOU FOLLOW ME, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life (Zoe).”” The secret to the GOOD Life is to follow Jesus! To follow means to be a disciple. TRUE CONVERSION PRODUCES REAL TRANSFORMATION. ITS NOT ENOUGH TO JUST BELIEVE! - James says even the demons believe... Your belief must be followed with a NEW LIFE in Jesus. JESUS TEACHES HOW TO FOLLOW in Luke 9:23-26. It states, “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross DAILY (discipleship is a daily pursuit) and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?" God has called us to go on a daily journey with Him. Jesus said there are 3 DAILY Decisions of a Disciple.

The first decision is "Deny yourself." This means that we to DAILY Yield to His Word. Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your MINDS; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” It takes devotion to yield your mind to him. Romans 8:6 NLT. “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

Secondly, we must "pick up our cross". This means to DAILY Commit to the Call. There is no such thing as an uncommitted Christian. JAMES 1:27 says,

“Pure and unblemished religion [as it is expressed in outward acts] in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit and look after the fatherless and the widows in their distress, and to keep oneself uncontaminated by the [secular] world.” Commitment trumps EMOTIONS! Make His Mission your mission daily.

The third decision is to "FOLLOW". This is to DAILY OBEY His Spirit. EACH TIME YOU OBEY THE SPIRIT, YOU ARE INVITING THE GOOD LIFE TO OVERTAKE YOU. There's a blessing on the other side of your obedience. Hebrews 10:15-16 NLT, “And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”” Be determined to develop a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and listen to what He urges you to do. Begin to step out in faith. It takes practice! Don't get discouraged! When you sow seeds by the Spirit you will reap a harvest! People of God, let's decide to live the GOOD life by following Jesus DAILY!
